Athens, a fairly large college town supporting around 26 hotels, is home to the University of Georgia. The Bulldogs are a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and are frequently a top-25 team. Georgia has had a football team since 1892, and has an all-time record of 724-384-54 (a .646 winning percentage). The "Dawgs," as they are sometimes called, play in historic Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. With a seating capacity of 92,746, it is the fifth largest on-campus stadium in the United States and the 15th largest stadium in the world.
